55 agents to begin filming key interactions with suspects.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Tuesday that it would be launching a new pilot program for agents of Homeland Security Investigations, a part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). 55 members of the SWAT-like special response team will begin wearing a body cam to increase transparency to their operations.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said of the program, “With its body-worn camera pilot, ICE is making an important statement that transparency and accountability are essential components of our ability to fulfill our law enforcement mission and keep communities safe.” DHS agents will engage the cameras when making arrests, questioning suspects, and carrying out search warrants.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For protection and good judgement for DHS agents as they to carry out their duties.
- For Secretary Mayorkas to seek the Lord’s guidance as he leads his department.
- For God’s purpose for the country to be fulfilled.
